Common Radiology and Oral Medicine Diagnoses for the General Practitioner (Including Medical Emergencies in the Dental office)

This course presents principles of oral and maxillofacial radiology interpretation of the most common oral pathologies.  Additionally the program will include some of the most common Oral Medicine conditions that the general practitioner will see in a busy dental practice including burning mouth disorder, dry mouth, halitosis, herpes virus to mention some. The course will emphasis in the chronological order of the radiology interpretation and construction of the differential diagnosis.  The main methodology of this course will be in case-presentation format. Interpretation of the images performed for common and uncommon dental diseases/disorders is a skill learned over time with clinical practice.  Careful and methodical examination of radiographs and the value of lesion description will be emphasized in the course.

Dental Management of Medically Compromised Patients

Second Meeting

Oral Medicine including Distinguishing Entities; Use Diagnostic Tools; Recognize Systemic Conditions; Recognize Systemic Conditions

Third Meeting

Salivary Gland Dysfunction: Hypersalivation and Hyposalivation

Fourth meeting

Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology

48 hours participation credit - $2000 ($400 per meeting)
