Course Overview:

Are you a general dentist who would like to feel more comfortable managing your pediatric patients? Do you ever stumble answering questions like, “why invest in saving these teeth, aren’t they just baby teeth, my child fell and hit their teeth-what do we do? Do you know your patient needs a stainless-steel crown but need a review in how to place one? Learn from Dr. Psaltis’ years of clinical experience how pediatric dentistry is unique and that each appointment requires that the dentist must successfully communicate and manage the behavior of both children and parents. Course participants will learn the principles of behavior management through discussion and demonstrations in video footage showing actual patients in treatment and how to best handle them. The course will also include lively discussions about dealing with negative behavior, oral habits, trauma to primary teeth and early orthodontic diagnosis. The second day will include a hands-on session placing stainless steel crowns.

Course Objectives:

  • Learn principles of behavior management
  • Become comfortable dealing with challenging pedo-patients
  • Learn how to effectively respond to parent’s questions and concerns
  • Demonstrate SSC and anterior strip crown placement technique
  • Develop confidence with Primary Pulp Therapy
