Course Overview:

This study club will cover both the didactic and clinical aspects of surgical implant placement and restoration. This is an ongoing study club designed for participants to develop their skills over time and progress at a rate that is tailored to their needs. Some participants will choose to focus more on treatment planning and restorative procedures with a slower entry into surgical procedures. Some will enter into surgical procedures after the first few sessions. This interactive course will include detailed lectures, hands on surgical activities, implant protocol review, case presentations and live patient treatments. Subjects to be covered include: treatment planning, surgical guides, risk/complications, radiographic analysis (CBCT, Pano, PA), surgical anatomy, implant surfaces/designs, custom abutments, provisionals, digital impressions and digital laboratory workflow. Specific surgical topics that will be covered are flap design, suturing, extractions, implant placement, guided surgery, bone grafting, soft tissue grafting, peri-implantitis and implant maintenance. This course also includes assistant surgical training, hygienist perio maintenance training, CBCT software training and review of consents and post-operative instructions.
