Course Overview:

Stephen Chu DMD, MSD, CDT: Periodontal, Restorative, and Esthetic Management of Extraction Socket Implants in the Esthetic Zone Implant dentistry is continuously evolving to offer new and more predictable forms of therapy with minimally invasive protocols. Innovative techniques now allow for better esthetics, decreased treatment times, and greater patient comfort. However, these new techniques and therapies continue to raise questions and concerns regarding risks and rewards of each. Specifically, controversial issues have emerged regarding immediate extraction socket implant placement in relationship to survival and esthetic outcomes. Immediate provisional restoration of immediate implants placed into anterior sites will be highlighted. This lecture will address current concepts in the treatment of Type 1, 2, and 3 sockets, techniques, clinical research, histologic evidence, and innovations in immediate implant placement and provisional restoration. You will learn how immediate implant treatment can enhance treatment procedures, time, and clinical outcomes for greater patient comfort, care, and satisfaction

Dan Grauer, DDS, PhD: Much More Than Straight Teeth This presentation will explore the technological revolution as it relates to orthodontics. Three dimensional imaging used in orthodontics and orthognathic surgery now allows general practitioners and orthodontists to engage in new levels of interdisciplinary diagnosis and treatment planning. In this presentation you will learn how the latest developments in orthodontic treatment options and advancements in imaging technology will help you coordinate with your orthodontist to ensure elegant treatment planning for your patients: not too much, not too little! Remember, you only see that which you learn to notice.

Dr. Abdi Sameni, DDS: Minimum Dentistry Maximum Results: Is Less More? This course will provide participants with creative solutions to enhance patient's esthetics through the use of minimally invasive dental products and procedures. The participants will learn how to obtain outstanding functional and esthetic results while being biologically respectful to the hard and soft tissues. Direct bonded restorations will be discussed in detail from both the clinicians viewpoint and the patients.

Dr.Jorge Garaicoa, DDS, M.S: To Prep or Not to Prep? Practical solutions to solve problems utilizing conservative indirect bonded restorations. Recently adhesives systems have improved tremendously, giving us the option to rely on enamel or dentin substrate to bond our restorations without the need of retention or resistance features, maximizing the conservation of tooth structure. However, choosing the correct clinical scenario and selecting the appropriate bonding protocol is key for the success of these types of restorations. This course will provide attendees with the tools to recognize situations where indirect bonded restorations can be used to maintain tooth structure and increase tooth longevity and success.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand when Less tissue/bone manipulation for implant placement gets you More results

  • Understand when More combination (surg/ortho) orthodontic cases actually achieves Less long term dentistry

  • Understand when Less tooth structure removal gives you More long term success.

  • Understand when Less enamel removal gives you More esthetic outcomes
