Course Overview:

This course will solidify your capacity to integrate periodontics into your practice as a multidisciplinary component of restorative, endodontic and orthodontic therapies. It will start with a basic review of current periodontal diagnosis and pathobiology, and periodontal evaluation including radiographic interpretation. It will provide the most recent knowledge to optimize your treatment planning of both non-surgical and surgical therapies. The course will also educate you on hard tissue surgical procedures including guided tissue regeneration, laser therapy and osseous respective therapies (crown lengthening and osseous surgery). This action-packed course will also prepare you to integrate bone augmentation techniques to address pre-prosthetic bony defects. And finally, after reviewing current and classic techniques along with the use of autogenous, allograft and xenograft tissue matrices, you will learn how to incorporate socket grafting into your practice. You will learn to perform (or know when to refer) soft tissue mucogingival connective tissue and free gingival grafting therapies.

Course Objectives:

  • Review and refresh your periodontal theory and practice knowledge

  • Know when to refer and when to treat various periodontal procedures in your practice

  • Provide you with new skills to expand the periodontal therapies you are able to provide your patients.
